Lara Stammen
works as education and communication coordina- tor in the off-grid community Sunseed Desert Technology. She is alumna of a BA in European Studies and the MA Arts and Heritage at Maastricht University. Her research on the role of artivism in socio-ecological transformation made her stumble upon the degrowth movement.
She moved to Barcelona to study Political Ecology: Degrowth and Environmental Justice and is intrigued to bridge their investigative mind with creative spirit and zest for action. Their latest project is a community based podcast about the role of ecovillages within the degrowth movement. Within the residency she aims to build bridges between the Sunseed community and the artist/investigators
Laura Chica Castells
is an ecofeminist researcher and activist based in Barcelona. She is inspired to weave caring and creative communities that live self-sufficiently.
When she was studying a Master in Political Ecology, Degrowth and Environmental Justice, her research focused on visibilising unpaid care work.
