The second edition of Germinar-t takes place in spring. We gather in the Sunseed community in Spain again to co-create for 10 days. The residency ends in Sunseed's Festival for Water Justice, which is an event for activist grassroots connections in the area of Almería.

Festival del Agua
The Festival del Agua is an event that Sunseed hosts each spring. It raises awareness for environmental justice in Almería, with a special focus on water struggles. The intensive and extensive agro-business in the region of Almería exploits natural resources and labour force of mostly migrant workers. Aquifers are overexploited and the area is desertifying at rapid speed. People work in slums between the greenhouses in which vegetables are produced for profit.

At the Festival, local activists and communities come together, raising awareness, sharing about their own struggles, listening to others, being there in solidarity, connecting and getting organised.
Germinar-t for Environmental Justice
This residency's aim is to engage artistically with the environmental justice struggles in the area. Residency participants are introduced to the interwoven complexities of exploitative structures and regenerative grassroots bubbles. Artists are invited to engage through creation and have space to share their process and work at the festival.
